Switching Jobs

I jumped.

I accepted a new job at Novell (Attachmate) at the beginning of the month. I started the week of Thanksgiving.

So far things have been typical of starting a new job. Lots of learning. The shock of transitioning from being the go-to guy at the last place to being the total noob at the new place. I also feel the usual need to impress my new peers and management by doing something ridiculous, and then wondering what they think of you.

Its kind of stressful, but at the same time kind of refreshing. There are new problems to solve and new things to learn. These types of things seem like part of the grind to the rest of the people working there, but they’re new to me and interesting.

I also get to look for new places to leave my mark.
